We are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the historic buildings and environment of the cathedral city of Ripon on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and of the surrounding area.
Our aims include:
- promoting heritage protection and conservation projects in the city and area
- promoting the highest levels of architecture, planning and design
- stimulating public awareness of the best qualities of Ripon and the surrounding area
acting as a leading voice in the development and prosperity of the city and the surrounding area

SIX NEW WALKS LEAFLETS PUBLISHED
 Six themed walks have been published jointly by Ripon Civic Society and Ripon Ramblers.
NEXT MEETING The next event is on Thursday 2 February 2012 when Dr Robert McManners, Chairman of Bishop Auckland Civic Society, will speak about 'The Zurburan Paintings at Auckland Castle'. The meeting takes place at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall in Ripon, and starts at 7.30pm. All are welcome - guests pay £3.00.
The Society's competition for young photographers on the subject of Quirky Ripon has been voted one of the top Civic Day projects in the Country by Civic Voice. Below is one of the winning pictures.
