Membership leaflet coverWe are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the historic buildings and environment of the cathedral city of Ripon on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

Our aims include:

  • promoting heritage protection and conservation projects in the city
  • promoting the highest levels of architecture, planning and design
  • stimulating public awareness of the best qualities of Ripon
  • acting as a leading voice in the development and prosperity of the city

    The Society has raised objections to a proposal by North Yorkshire County Council to remove the block-paved surface of part of the city's historic Kirkgate with tarmac.
      
    The next Meeting is on Thursday 2 September 2010, 
    when Ruth Annison will speak about The Wensleydale Railway.  The talk
    takes place at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall, Ripon, starting at 7.30pm. 
    Everyone is welcome; non-members pay £2.00.
