We are dedicated to protecting and enhancing the historic buildings and environment of the cathedral city of Ripon on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.
Our aims include:
- promoting heritage protection and conservation projects in the city
- promoting the highest levels of architecture, planning and design
- stimulating public awareness of the best qualities of Ripon
- acting as a leading voice in the development and prosperity of the city
Ripon Civic Society has formulated a policy on traffic and parking in the city, and is fully participating in discussions locally and regionally to take its ideas forward.
You can read the Society's column in the Ripon Gazette here each week - and browse the archive, too.
Don't miss the Marquess of Ripon centenary events on Thursday 9 July. There will be a commemoration at the statue of the Marquess in the Spa Park at 7.00pm, followed by a talk on the Marquess by Richard Compton in the Spa Hotel. Everyone is welcome.
