LETTERING IN RIPON IS SUBJECT FOR CIVIC SOCIETY’S NEXT TALK
25th August 2015
The many styles and varieties of public lettering in Ripon will be the subject of the next talk to Ripon Civic Society, which takes place on Thursday 3 September.
The talk will be given by Paul Kershaw, a wood engraver and handpress printer who lives in Ripon and is a member of the Society. He has a particular interest in lettering, and will discuss how it is used in and around the city.
David Winpenny, Chairman of Ripon Civic Society, says, ‘Paul has a great eye for design and lettering, and he will open our eyes to aspects of how we use lettering in public in Ripon. It is sure to be a fascinating and illuminating talk.’
Everyone is welcome to the talk, which takes place at 7.30 pm on Thursday 3 September at Allhallowgate Methodist Church Hall, Victoria Grove, Ripon. There is a charge of £3.00 for anyone who is not a Civic Society member.
